Prime Day 2018: Amazon prepares for huge volume of orders

Our Amazon sources tell us that you can expect these systems to be as much as 42 percent off on Prime Day. Users will reap the bonanza of blowout deals starting at 3 p.m. on July 16.

Items on sale now for $119 include unlocked Apple iPhone SE or Motorola MOTO smartphones; GoPro Hero5; Dyson hand-held vacuums; Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness watches; and Mongoose bikes, among others.

Amazon Prime Day is inspiring rival sales online.

The deals mark a continuation of the initiative from Amazon to expand into the grocery business by offering deals that are similar to Black Friday or Cyber Monday and this marks the first time that Prime Day has taken place with Whole Foods under the Amazon umbrella. With an increased number of Prime members this year, the sale is expected to be even bigger and better than last year. The multi-functional Instant Pot is a perennial favorite for Prime Day.

You can get three months of Kindle Unlimited for $1, when it usually costs $10.

Blockbuster opening Prime Day celebrations will start early on Prime Video with seven blockbuster titles launching over seven days starting July 10 including Raazi, Dunkirk, Transformers: The Last Night, and the Prime Original show, Comicstaan. The new discounts include shipping and span categories including electronics, fashion and sports.

Amazon has been teasing its millions of deals for a little bit already, but we've yet to see any specifics about what products would be on sale or what prices they would be at.

In a global flagship event created by Amazon, over 100 million Prime members in 17 countries, including India, will participate in Prime Day.

We think that the benefits of Prime membership make that annual fee worth paying, but what if you just want to get the Prime Day deals without paying for a Prime membership? Lightning will strike throughout Prime Day, in the form of lightning-fast sales, which will come and go in a flash. You can find the full list here.

Amazon says that all Prime members who spend at least $10 in one visit to a Whole Foods store between July 11 and 17 will get a $10 credit to spend on Amazon Prime Day 2018.

For the avid reader out there, Prime Day will be the best day to get an e-reader, with the price getting cut by a third.

There are Prime exclusive deals dropping every day in the lead up to next Monday.
