Fernando Torres will join former Spain team-mate Andres Iniesta in the J.League next season after agreeing a deal with Sagan Tosu.

Torres bid farewell to Atlético Madrid at the end of last season after his second spell there, a tear falling down his cheek, to a standing ovation. "My new team will be Sagan Tosu of Japan", the 34-year-old Torres said at an event held at the gym he owns in Madrid on Tuesday.

In fact, he is one of the most experienced Premier League strikers still playing today.

Sagan Tosu have been in the top division of the J-League since 2012.

According to reports, Torres also had offers to sign for Australian side Sydney FC and Major League Soccer club Chicago Fire.

Fernando Torres ends speculation of his next club as he announces he'll be joining J-League side Sagan Tosu.

Torres was a free agent after leaving Atletico Madrid this summer and had been linked with moves to various leagues around the world.
