Fan Art Imagines Joaquin Phoenix in Upcoming Joker Origin Movie

Will it be The Joker narrating his own origin to the camera, giving Phoenix most of the film to play outside of any makeup and create a dramatic story that won't feature any insane plots or superhero setpieces? Furthermore, it's also now confirmed that Joaquin Phoenix will be taking the lead role.

A release date hasn't yet been announced, but shooting will begin in September in NY.

The movie, which is going to be directed and co-written by "The Hangover" franchise's Todd Phillips, will be an "exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale", Warner Bros. said per The Hollywood Reporter.

As you'd expect from a film about the Joker, the chaotic mastermind at the heart of the best Batman film to date, it is set to be darker and more experimental than any comic book origin story that has come before.

David Beckham condemns criticism aimed at England forward Raheem Sterling
For all you cricket fans, Raheem Sterling is very similar to Ashley Giles in the 2005 Ashes. The reason is his movement and speed, something which is crucial to any side's offence.

"I don't know... it could be an interesting character".

Phoenix is not the only A-lister playing the Clown Prince of Crime either; Jared Leto is also preparing to revisit his interpretation, last seen - albeit fleetingly - in 2016's Suicide Squad. If you have the ability to transcend the genre, then that's what you want to do.

Pictures announced today that Joaquin Phoenix will star in an origin story of one of DC's most notorious Super-Villains, the Joker.

Upcoming DC Extended Universe films include Aquaman on December 21st, Shazam on April 5, 2019, and Wonder Woman 2 on November 1, 2019.
