Djokovic 'peaking at the right moment' and into the Wimbledon semi-finals

"I played only once in first four matches on Centre Court".

Anderson achieved something only Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Novak Djokovic had done before as he fought back to prevail, 2-6, 6-7 (5-7), 7-5, 6-4, 13-11, in a thriller that lasted four hours and 13 minutes on No.1 Court.

While Anderson is known for his booming serve, it's Federer's serve that has proved impenetrable at this year's Championships - the Swiss is yet to drop serve and has held in his past 81 service games, dating back to the first set of his semi-final against Czech Tomas Berdych last year.

As it stands, the 17-time Grand Slam champion is now on 8,950 points while Federer, who has to win a ninth Wimbledon title to retain the full 2,000 points, is now on 8,720.

But he seemed to answer any question about whether he'd be addled by the unfamiliar environs or Anderson's massive serve in the first 26 minutes, closing the opening set with the impeccable form he'd shown in winning his first five matches without losing a set or his serve.

Nadal exited in the fourth round last year to Gilles Muller, but having made the quarterfinals this year, the 32-year-old extended his lead over Federer in the ATP rankings by 180 points. I think that's not fair.

Roger Federer and his ideal run through the 2018 Wimbledon tennis tournament thus far next face Kevin Anderson in Wednesday's Men's Singles quarterfinals match.

For all you cricket fans, Raheem Sterling is very similar to Ashley Giles in the 2005 Ashes. The reason is his movement and speed, something which is crucial to any side's offence.

Even by Federer's stratospheric standards, the first set was a little absurd. Anderson had 28 aces, 27 of them coming in the final four sets.

But Federer offered a contrasting view in his media conference following a 6-0 7-5 6-4 fourth-round win over Adrian Mannarino on Monday. "Beating Roger Federer here at Wimbledon will be one I remember, especially in such a close match", Anderson said.

Djokovic secured that game with a forehand victor, then saved two game points on Nishikori's serve before converting his first match point with a forehand down the line.

He missed the second half of 2017 with an elbow injury, but his run at Wimbledon is the latest indicator that the 12-time Grand Slam champion is nearing his best form.

After beating Monfils in a tight four-set battle, Anderson said he was exhausted after playing for three hours and 29 minutes.

John Isner is also through to the last eight for the first time, seven years after reaching his only previous grand slam quarter-final at the US Open.

Ramos then hit Djokovic with a time violation warning for taking too long to serve in the seventh game of the fourth set.
