Cardi B files $15m Countersuit against Former Manager

Cardi B is counter suing her former manager Klenord "Shaft" Raphael for $15 million.

Cardi's suit claims that when the artist "questioned whether it was proper for her to receive only 50 percent", Shaft "deceitfully told her that this was an absolutely standard percentage for a recording artist to receive".

The suit claims that Shaft used money that belonged to Cardi for his "personal travel, entertainment and expenses" and his company KSR's employees had taken $15,000 as a loan without Cardi's knowledge.

The counterclaim, filed by Almanzar, (minus Foster, Quality Control Management, Lee and Thomas), denies nearly all but the basic allegations, acknowledging that Foster is indeed her publicist, for example, or that she did indeed sign a management contract and recording contract with Raphael and his company WorldStar.

As the documents read, as Cardi became more successful, "so too did Shaft's greed".

But on Thursday, Cardi hit back, countersuing Shaft and alleging he gained her trust, cut her off from other friends and advisers, and then signed her on to contracts that were variously described in the suit as "grossly unfair", "highly one-sided" and "highly favorable to himself".

Meghan wore a deep navy boat neck dress from Dior , that was a similar shape to her iconic wedding dress. And Kate chose to wear a coat by Alexander McQueen , a hat by Sean Barrett , and an RAF Dacre Brooch.

She further revealed in the suit that the estranged manager, made the management deal way too beneficial to him.

According to the counterclaim, Cardi B - whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar - was feeling suffocated by her ex-management team, who she claimed was overly possessive of her in both her personal and professional life.

And it was for this reason the former manager sued her and demanded no less than $10 million in damages.

In one instance, he said Offset contacted him late past year, saying he was a "snake" who had taken more than his fair share of Cardi B's earnings.

Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her music career and public image. Leonard is listed as a co-writer on Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow". Shaft allegedly tried to manage who she could or could not see.
