Microsoft Is Teasing A New Surface Announcement For Tomorrow

Microsoft insists the Surface Go "is the best of Microsoft and the iconic Surface design you know and love, with no compromises in premium quality".

There's also a new Surface Mobile Mouse for $34.99 (around £30, AU$45), which will be available in the same red, blue, or silver color options as the Signature Type Covers and the existing Surface Pen. The custom calibrated 3:2 display is soft on your eyes while you're working and vibrantly high-contrast when you want to watch videos, create art, or edit photos. And for me, whether I'm at home, in the office, or on a plane, putting my Surface Pen on the screen and letting my thoughts flow is a necessary step in my creative process. There's also a built-in kickstand that can extend to 165 degrees. The US will see the Surface Go land August 2, while Australia and New Zealand will get it August 28.

Does Microsoft's Surface Go Tablet have the capability to disrupt the tablet market? Microsoft has also added USB Type-C for connectivity. Microsoft says this makes it more functional than an Apple iPad, while still being more versatile and flexible than an Apple MacBook.

Jamie Vardy sends Gareth Southgate update ahead of World Cup semi-final
It's been 28 years since we were last here, if you can't get carried away now, when can you? I can not call the first semi-final. You don't need to play like Brazil or other teams who have a different football heritage and approach to the game.

The Surface Go runs Windows 10 S, a version of Windows that will only run apps found in the Microsoft Store - a walled-garden approach much in the same vein as Apple. Windows can be upgraded to a full Windows 10 Pro license, though, which would allow you to install and run any application you wish.

Microsoft Surface Go is targeted at students and educators, just like the company's Surface 3.

That same tweet hints that Microsoft is making the announcement on Tuesday; it shows a picture of four Surface products, all of which display tomorrow's date and the time "6:00". The 256GB configuration does not yet have a price tag. And because the Surface Go is a tablet, it's both more portable than any Mac, plus it has a touchscreen.

According to TechRadar's sources and a document partially posted to Reddit, Microsoft's budget Surface tablet could go on sale as soon as Friday 13 July. Just remember that Alcantara stains easily. A Surface Pen will set you back another $99. But while the Surface Go is indeed pocketable, it only has one screen, meaning that this ain't it. Well, given the starting price point, anyone on the move, really. There are other "firstline-worker" PCs and tablets emerging. Pre-orders have opened, but actual shipping starts in August.
