Karius '100 per cent' influenced by concussion - Klopp

Karius made glaring mistakes to allow two of Real Madrid's three goals, throwing the ball straight at Karim Benzema, who scored Los Blancos' opener, and spilling a long-range Gareth Bale strike into his net for the final goal of Liverpool's 3-1 defeat.

Days after the final, it emerged that Karius had undergone medical examinations that confirmed he had suffered a concussion in a clash with Sergio Ramos.

Brandt is predominantly a left winger but he's capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so his versatility would be a useful asset for Klopp if Liverpool were able to lure him to Anfield.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com after returning to pre-season training, Klopp said: 'After four days I got a call from Franz Beckenbauer, our Bobby Moore, our biggest football player who is a good friend of mine.

"He called me and said he came from a doctor, he told me: "Your goalkeeper had a concussion". He said the doctor is the most famous doctor in Germany. I said: OK, give me a few minutes, I have to fix a few things. How can we think that? I don't know exactly what people think or made of the situation. Of course I wanted them to win the Champions League and I'm disappointed they never (did) but when you look at the big picture - and the journey they are on - it is a very exciting time being part of this Liverpool set-up.

Putin invites Russian team to Kremlin after historic World Cup performance
There was not a single national team in the World Cup that had the complete trust of their country. "Thank you, Russia . Moscow's Nikolskaya Street was full of people chanting, dancing, and hugging into the morning. "It was a great match".

"Whoever had a concussion knows there is not one way how it feels, there are different ways". Five days after the final, Loris had 26 of 30 markers for a concussion still. "We don't use it as an excuse, we use it as an explanation", Klopp claimed. That's always important, that's what analysis should be: you explain why things happen.

Asked whether they could close the 25-point gulf to City, having been only one of two sides to beat them in the league, Gerrard added: "The million dollar question".

On top of that, Liverpool are looking to renew his terms after impressing hugely since the start of the calendar year. You make a mistake against Chester and it's a mistake.

"He was influenced by that knock, that is 100 per cent. I think by making signings naturally your bench becomes stronger".
