George Clooney released from hospital after motorcycle crash in Italy


Italian media say actor George Clooney has been hospitalized after he was involved in an accident while riding a motorcycle in Sardinia.

The 57-year-old actor, who is now filming a TV series on the Italian island, was understood to be driving to set when the incident occurred.

George Clooney "smashed in to a windscreen" when his scooter collided with a auto in Sardinia.

According to the site, George was said to be hit by a auto which suddenly changed direction at a spot close to a hotel.

Clooney was taken to a hospital and the injuries are not believed to be serious, according to La Nuova.

China Civil Aviation Authority had in April directed several countries to change the name of Taiwan to Chinese Taipei . Now, Air India describes Taiwan as "Taipei, Taoyuan Taoyuan International Airport, TPE, Chinese Taipei" on its website.

An NBC News reporter tweeted that Clooney has already been discharged by the hospital.

Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea and is over 500 miles from Clooney's villa in Lake Como.

The Hulu mini-series is based on Joseph Heller's novel about a US Air Force bombardier who aims to fly sufficient missions to go back home and leave World War II behind.
