George Clooney involved in motorbike accident in Italy, reports say


Hollywood star George Clooney has been injured in a road incident in Sardinia, Italy, local media report. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for injuries to his pelvis, and bruising to a knee and an arm. The 57-year-old was transported to the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in an ambulance and checked out of the facility at 10 a.m.

George Clooney has been hospitalised after crashing his bike in Sardinia, Italy, according to reports. "It turns out he had a scooter accident with only minor injuries", while another added: "George Clooney should not be tampered with 2018!"

The image showed slight damage to the actor's bike and smashed glass to the left of the Mercedes car's windscreen.

He is understood to have received treatment at John Paul II hospital, but NBC News report that he has since been discharged. George and Amal met back in 2013 when Amal attended a party at the Ocean's Eleven star's house in Lake Como, Italy.


The 57-year-old was travelling to the set of his new TV show Catch 22 in Costa Corallina when a auto turned and struck him.

Clooney, the husband of leading human-rights lawyer Amal Clooney, has a home on the Italian mainland at Lake Como. He was reportedly heading to the set when he was struck by the vehicle.

The publication states that according to La Nuova Sardegna, George was hit by the auto after it suddenly changed direction, taking him by surprise. More information is to follow.

George has been working hard in the region for his new project Catch 22, with the star directing, producing and starring in the six episode miniseries based on Joseph Heller's seminal novel.
