George Clooney injured in scooter accident in Italy


Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia and released after being involved in an accident while riding his motorcycle, hospital officials said.

The 57-year-old was hit by a auto while riding his scooter on the island of Sardinia, officials confirmed to NBC News.

According to the site, George was said to be hit by a auto which suddenly changed direction at a spot close to a hotel.

Italian paper La Nuova reported that he was rushed to the emergency room at John Paul II Hospital, but he is not believed to be seriously hurt.

A fire extinguisher can be seen on the road but no people from the accident were involved.

MailOnline has contacted a representative for George for comment. The car's driver assisted George after the crash and reportedly called an ambulance, according to NBC.
