Skyrim on Nintendo Switch Not Likely to Get Creation Club Support

Skyrim on Nintendo Switch Not Likely to Get Creation Club Support

Eurogamer has published a recent interview with Bethesda chief Todd Howard during which he's asked about the possibilities of mods coming to Skyrim on the Nintendo Switch.

The primary reasoning behind a lack of action over mod support for Skyrim Switch is that the team Bethesda has put in charge of Switch development is focusing on other projects, primarily Fallout Shelter. When asked about what they're doing about the situation, he said: "Right now we're doing nothing".

Skyrim launched for Switch a year ago to great success, but an element of the title missing is The Creation Club, which allows players to utilize mods in-game. For starters, Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer survival game. "People, they're on other things". The head honcho of Bethesda was interviewed recently and it was found that mods will definitely not be arriving on the Switch platform. Our Switch group did Fallout Shelter ... and that's done really well. Howard clarified that they would love to eventually see mods on the Switch, but now, that's not something the company is actively doing.

"They asked for mods", he replied, "they asked for Creation Club - 'When are we getting more stuff?'"

Howard assures that Bethesda games will all have focused mod support going forward, but now, "we still think there's a way to go there".

The idea of slaying dragons in Skyrim on the bus - or on the loo - used to be nothing more than a pipe dream - but last November, Bethesda Game Studios pulled it off and released the fifth Elder Scrolls game on Nintendo Switch.

So there you go, if you want The Elder Scrolls VI to be on the shelves quicker stop buying Skyrim on every device you own.
