Walmart boycott campaign launched after outcry over 'Impeach 45' clothing

The marketplace is teeming with MAGA hats and coffee mugs, but the company has just pulled an anti-Trump shirt with the slogan "Impeach 45" from its website.

US retailer Walmart Inc (WMT.N) faced an outcry from supporters of President Donald Trump on Tuesday for listing for sale on its open marketplace clothing with the slogan "Impeach 45", an apparent reference to Trump, the country's 45th president.

News of the shirt prompted a #BoycottWalmart movement on Twitter and social media, with a large number of supporters jumping in.

Ryan Fournier, chairman of the group Students for Trump, was one of the first to discover Walmart was selling the clothing item, according to the International Business Times.

A request for comment by Fox News wasn't immediately returned.

It's not the first time Walmart has gotten into hot water for controversial t-shirts for sale on its website. It pulled merchandise branded with "Bulletproof - Black Lives Matter" after complaints from the National Fraternal Order of Police, and past year it removed T-shirts emblazoned with "Rope. Tree. Journalist. Some assembly required", on its third-party marketplace.

Walmart, not long ago, was in trouble with liberals as well for a shirt it soldthat read "Rope". The company hasn't backed down yet, keeping the clothing for babies and adults for sale at its stores and online.
