Krunal, Deepak Chahar get maiden India call-up

Till date, England and India have played 11 T20Is between them. The young pacer from Rajasthan has been named as a replacement for the injured pacer in the India's T20 squad for the T20 series. On Saturday, the BCCI had announced that India's death-over specialist Bumrah and right-arm off-spinner Sundar had been ruled out of the three-match Twenty20 global (T20I) series due to injuries.

In a big setback to India ahead of the England series, Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out for the T20Is.

Meanwhile, Sundar will be replaced by Krunal Pandya for T20I and Axar Patel for the ODI series.

Chahar, who was an integral part of the Chennai Super Kings side that won IPL 2018, has done very well so far. Three games into the tri-series, Chahar has picked up seven wickets with an economy rate of 4.04.

Bumrah, while attempting a return catch during India's first T20I against Ireland, injured his thumb. He missed the first two T20I games, both of which India won handsomely, and "subsequently underwent scans and was seen by a specialist", said a BCCI statement.

The other pace options India will have for the upcoming T20I series against hosts England are Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Siddarth Kaul.
