Manchester United Signs Marouane Fellaini To New Contract

With Fellaini set to sign a new deal, Mourinho is unlikely to sanction a move for a second midfielder.

Fellaini has made a total of 156 appearances for United in all competitions, but just seven starts were made in Premier League and Champions League fixtures during the most recent campaign.

West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic was one of the players identified for the role.

The saga now appears to be nearing an end with Fellaini sent to extend his United career for another two years.

Fellaini looked to be on his way out of Old Trafford after he was linked with Arsenal, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain as well a number of clubs in Turkey, China and Holland, but United persuaded him to stay with a late offer.

However, in a last-minute turnaround, the midfielder is tipped to commit his future to Jose Mourinho's side with a two-year contract and a salary upwards of £100,000 per week.

James can also sign a short-term deal with Cleveland , something he has done each year since returning in 2014. And while James can still re-sign with the Cavs, there seems to be momentum with the Lakers.

Marouane Fellaini has made a shocking decision about his future.

However, HLN report he will remain at Old Trafford, where he has played since joining United from Everton in 2013.

A medial knee ligament injury sustained on global duty in October restricted Fellaini's involvement for the rest of that campaign, ultimately limiting him to 23 appearances.

AC Milan sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli said Fellaini could be a target for the Italian giants and the player did little to cool speculation over his next destination when speaking in Russian Federation ahead of Belgium's Group G match against England on Thursday.

"I am not anxious about my contract running out, I am used to it", he told reporters (via Sky Sports). "But soon I will say where I will be playing next season".
