‘Timeless’ Cast and Writers on Second Cancellation: ‘Gutted by This, Guys’

‘Timeless’ Cast and Writers on Second Cancellation: ‘Gutted by This, Guys’

It's been a hard road for the cast and executive producers of NBC's Timeless, a show that's been canceled, revived, and now canceled again.

"This is a sad day for the writers, actors, crew and especially the viewers of Timeless", co-showrunner Shawn Ryan said onTwitter after the news broke. I was proud to bring a little positivity & inclusion into this f-d up world. Ryan tweeted, "We don't want the journeys of Lucy, Wyatt, Rufus and the others to end yet".

The network said the show's fans, who call themselves "clockblockers", caused their change of heart at the time.

Star Matt Lanter tweeted, "I love you #Clockblockers. You've fought so hard and deserve so much more".

Timeless, which stars Abigail Spencer, Malcolm Barrett, and Matt Lanter as a history professor, scientist, and soldier tasked with traveling through time and preventing the adjustment of history, struggled in the ratings from the get-go, averaging 4.6 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the key 18 to 49 demo for its first season.

The real production increase would be around 600,000 barrels a day, a delegate familiar with Opec's internal calculations said. OPEC's deal to release more supply centres on the idea of returning to 100 per cent compliance with existing, agreed cuts.

Talks are ongoing between NBC and Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series, for a movie that would serve as a series finale.

Reactions follow below. We'll be updating as more come in. The series averaged an OK 2.2 Live+7 adults 18-49 rating, but underperformed compared to previous dramas that had launched in its post-The Voice 10 PM Monday time period.

Writer David Hoffman and the official account for the Timeless writers room also tried to get fans talking about the show on social media. "Show up for these last three episodes and we'll get a season three". It ran for two seasons, and notably, was temporarily canceled after season 1.

"What you see at the end of the finale was pitched to me in my meeting when Shawn and Eric asked me to play the part, so it's been two seasons of getting to that moment", Spencer told ET in May.
