Melania Trump’s Jacket:

So how else to interpret the Zara jacket, a style in line with the signature self-protective aesthetic she has developed since entering the White House, except as an indication Trump was thinking about what people might read into the clothes she chose to wear to visit children left with, effectively, nothing?

"Do U?" when she boarded the plane at Andrews Air Force Base.

"Now a lot of the clothes Melania wears sends the message "I really don't care", Colbert acknowledged.

Asked about the message, spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said by email that it was just a jacket.

Post her visit to Texas immigration centre, Melania tweeted, "Today's visit to #Texas to spend time with children & thank the many hardworking individuals helping to care for them was very meaningful".

The trip was meant to lend support to some of the more than 2,300 children who remain separated from their parents, Grisham said.

It seemed a contradictory message for Trump's mission to Texas, where she hoped to demonstrate how much she cares about the children separated from their parents and housed in shelters there.
