Phillies fan struck in the eye by a flying hot dog

"I think it just came so fast".

"When I tell my brothers, they started laughing", she said to NBC10.

A woman suffered facial injuries when the Phillie Phanatic fired a hot dog into the crowd with his cannon during Monday night's game at Citizens Bank Park.

McVay was seated behind home plate when the Phanatic rolled onto the field on a mobile hot dog launcher, as he (it?) has been doing for over a decade.

The Phanatic mascot launched the hot dog into the stands in between innings. And it just hit me like that and I didn't even realize it. "My glasses flew", McVay said.

The television station said that McVay has an unrelated shoulder injury and was unable to protect herself. She is black and blue and very sore.

Neymar hobbles out of Brazil training session after 15 minutes
On Instagram on Monday, Neymar posted a picture of his foot while receiving treatment alongside the message "work hard". Brazil and Switzerland are two points behind group leaders Serbia, who beat Costa Rica in their group E opener.

McVay was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a small hematoma in her eye, along with soreness and bruises. "And mostly, it's going to get worse before it gets better", McVay said. "It's going to go down the side of my face".

The Phanatic, naturally, felt awful about what happened, and the team reached out to her on Tuesday to apologize. "Because you never know". "I understand a baseball, but not a hot dog".

Now that the public knows she's OK, McVay can bank on people getting a decent laugh out of this one. "If it gives people a good laugh and if that makes somebody chuckle, then that's fine". The team has reached out to apologize. Sources close to the team also told Bloomquist that the Phanatic "feels terrible" about causing her injuries.

Who doesn't love a hot dog at a baseball game - especially a free one?

McVay has a message for fans at future games so they avoid meeting a similar fate.
