Hornets locker room grew exhausted of Dwight Howard

One year ago, the Atlanta Hawks traded Howard to the Hornets for Miles Plumlee, Marco Belinelli and a swap of second-round picks in a trade that took place two days before the 2017 Draft.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski‏ reports that the team is finalizing a deal to send centre Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets for centre Timofey Mozgov.

Charlotte was determined to move out Howard, who has a $23.8 million expiring contract.

The Hornets also will receive two second-round draft choices. By dealing Mozgov and letting Howard's contract expire, Brooklyn will save $17 million entering the 2019-20 campaign, according to Wojnarowski, which will allow the team to create two maximum salary slots.

The Nets will be the sixth franchise that the 32-year-old Howard has played for in his career, and fourth in four seasons.

Mozgov appeared in 31 games last season, averaging 4.2 ppg, 3.2 rpg while shooting 55.9 percent in 31 games.

Some of the notable possible National Basketball Association free agents that season include Klay Thompson, Deandre Jordan, and Kemba Walker, according to Spotrac.
