Gmail for iOS gets AI-based high priority push notifications

To enable it, simply go to Settings Notifications High Priority only.

Designed for the iPhone and all iPad models, Gmail can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

Once the update is in place and the High Priority only setting is enabled, any push notification you see on your screen for Gmail should be related to an important piece of email that you probably need to read immediately. Other features include notification prioritisation which makes it easier for users to receive notifications only for the emails that are important for them.

In a blog post from G Suites, the company says that "these notifications leverage Gmail's machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities to identify messages you may want to read first". Once updated, the "high-priority" notification alert will sit at the top of the app. An Android version, on the other hand, is expected to arrive "soon".

Its official iOS app now uses artificial intelligence to provide notifications for your most important emails only.

Like we mentioned above, this not the only new feature which has shown up on Gmail since the past few weeks.

Confidential mode: This new feature allows you to set an expiration date for all your sensitive email. For now, email snoozing is only available on Gmail on the web. It has already been there with the company's other email app called Inbox since past year and is also present in Gmail's web interface.

Earlier in June, Google announced a timeline for when every user will be getting the new Gmail-and that of course, means you only have a little time to stick with the old one before it becomes history.
