Pre-World Cup chaos motivates Iran -Queiroz

Iran have been forced to find a different supplier for their team's footwear at the World Cup after Nike announced their decision to end their deal with Iran following the imposition of United States sanctions against the country.

"What maybe not everyone knows is that we have not allowed, under any circumstances, [problems] to become justifications or excuses", Queiroz told a news conference Thursday.

For now, Iran remain the rank outsiders in the group but Queiroz is happy to play the role of underdogs. This last comment of Nike was, in my personal view, an unnecessary statement.

The own goal was the only score between the teams, as Iran secured a 1-0 victory for its first World Cup win since 1998.

Iran and Morocco are in Group B alongside Spain and Portugal. "Iran is a country rich in tradition and thousands of years of history".

Don't let anyone think anything different. "Absolutely", Trump said. "It is in the agreement". It should have been solved long before I got there.

After Spain sacked their coach Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday, two days before their opening match, both Morocco and Iran will hope the likelihood of a surprise run has been boosted.

For example, how about an own-goal in a scoreless game in extra time during World Cup 2018?

But, if they are to upset the expected duopoly of Portugal and Spain, Iran will surely need to beat Morocco, who managed not to concede a single goal during their own stellar qualifying campaign.

"We are here to compete with the favourites and we hope the gods of football speak higher and they make decisions".

Team Melli, who have qualified for the consecutive World Cups for the first time, are making their fifth appearance in the World Cup finals, however the Persian have not yet advanced to the knockout stage.
