NEX Vivo: smartphone with retractable front camera

The smartphone boasts a massive screen with some unique features, boasting a camera that pops out of the device and discretely tucks away when not in use. The company also proclaimed that it has now acquired over 240 domestic and global patents pertaining to its in-display fingerprint sensor technology, which it described as the product of "several years of unwavering commitment to R&D".

As there is no space on the top front, it has retractable 8MP front camera.

No news as to whether a bottle opener appears when you're thirsty, or scissors spring out when you've a loose thread, mind. There's also a slightly cheaper model with a Snapdragon 710, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The high-end and expensive Vivo Nex model is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core processor, coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage options.

The Vivo NEX is only launching in China in black and red variants, but if you really want one there will be vendors selling these online in the coming weeks. The Vivo NEX A is priced at 3,898 Yuan which makes it approximately Rs 41,000. The display is a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ (1080 x 2316 pixels) resolution and 19.3:9 aspect ratio.

The NEX A comes loaded Snapdragon 710 SoC, 6GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. As for the primary camera on the back, a dual set of 12MP and 5MP is used, which could be seen as a letdown as similar flagships are using stronger setups, such as the OnePlus 6 that comes with 16MP and 20MP.

Additionally, there is a chance that this is not the only model OPPO releases and we could see one with 256GB worth of internal storage. Under the hood, the NEX A packs a 4000mAh battery which comes with 22.5W fast charging as well. Let's check out the specifications of Vivo NEX A smartphone below. It can be charged with the 22.5W charger that comes bundled with it. Both the smartphones run Android 8.1 Oreo with Funtouch UI for a gesture-based experience.
