George Lucas reveals details about what his sequel trilogy would’ve been about

James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction-a six-part series that aired on AMC in late April and May-explored different factions of science fiction and pop culture staples as Cameron interviewed numerous men who created those films.

A fan on Twitter, Livio Ramondelli, has pointed out that a book of the same name was released to accompany the series and its here Lucas goes into greater detail about Star Wars and more specifically what he had planned for the sequel trilogy, should he have made it. If I held onto the company, I could have done it, and then it would have been done. And in 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the character of Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) once was a devoted Guardian of the Whills.

"(The next three Star Wars films) were going to get into the microbiotic world. "There's this world of creatures that operate differently than we do". And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe.

NASA’s Opportunity rover halted over Martian dust storm
Back in 2007 , a much larger storm covered the planet, which led to two weeks of minimal operations and no communications. The problem isn't the dust, but the darkness it creates. "They can crop up suddenly but last weeks, even months".

Hamill tweeted Boyega: 'Be careful there son- the last time I let a fan put themself in my shoes, they just took off running & sold them on Ebay'. "The feed off the force".

While I admit I'm curious as to how Lucas planned to wrap up the storylines of the Original Trilogy characters, this idea of further explaining how the Force work sounds kind of awful. Lucasfilm though has other issues to worry about at the moment because thanks to Solo's recent box office owes, the studio is no longer guaranteed of box office success and needs to return to the drawing board on exactly how they can keep people dedicated to the Star Wars universe. J.J. Abrams has agreed to direct Star Wars 9, which is likely a big reason this petition was started in the first place. And the conduit is the midi-chlorians. Given how people have reacted to changes regarding the Force in the new movies, as well as the midi-chlorians in the prequels, Lucas' assumptions were probably correct. The midi-chlorians are the ones that communicate with the Whills.

We don't want to spoil things too much, but basically, Rose Tico is now the central protagonist, white men have been totally cut (in more ways than one), and there's a pretty massive spoiler headed your way about Chewie, but hey - we kind of always knew that was a possibility, right?
