Fight star Conor McGregor due in court on melee charges

Conor McGregor will appear in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Thursday.

Even if he does come back, McGregor still has pending legal issues to resolve stemming from his infamous bus attack at Barclays Center during UFC 223 fight week.

The Irishman attacked a bus carrying several high profile fighters at the Barclays Centre in NY, breaking a window and injuring a couple.

"He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month", White told TMZ Sports on Wednesday. White revealed they are due to meet on Monday. While he did box Floyd Mayweather last August, McGregor hasn't defended either of his UFC titles he earned nor has he fought in the octagon nearly two years.

UFC president Dana White will have a face-to-face conversation next week with Conor McGregor following his arrest for attacking a bus carrying fighters out of an April pre-fight press event in Brooklyn.

McGregor has not fought for the UFC since his TKO win over Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.

"I don't know what's going to happen", White said about the hearing. I don't know what Conor and his team have worked on.

Though seasoned trial attorney Bob Latham told MMAWeekly.com that it was unlikely that McGregor would eventually be convicted of a felony or face jail time, he also warned that it is unlikely that Thursday's court appearance provides a resolution. "Whatever happens tomorrow, I will be as shocked as you".

McGregor was in Belfast at the weekend for a fight event at the SSE Arena.
