Chelsea announce pre-season fixtures, Blues to face Arsenal in Dublin

Premier League champions Manchester City will start their title defence at Arsenal, who will be under the stewardship of new manager Unai Emery.

Arsenal will take on Chelsea at the Aviva Stadium on Wednesday, August 1 as part of the International Champions Cup.

Liverpool face Manchester City on 26 July in the United States, then face Manchester United two days later.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Wolves have set a sixth place finish as their target ahead of their return to the Premier League this coming season.

Among the final round of matches, scheduled for May 12, Manchester City are at Brighton - where they started last season - while Cardiff and Wolves are at Manchester United and Liverpool respectively.

Leicester City's first game at King Power Stadium comes a week later on Saturday 18 August, when newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers visit King Power Stadium for the first time since 2013.

Arsenal and Chelsea, who have both just had extremely disappointing seasons, will play a friendly match in Dublin.

The Blues face a trip to Huddersfield as they look to regain their title, while Spurs will be travelling to Rafa Benitez's Newcastle to open their account.

But despite the ease or difficulty of a team's early fixtures, the reality that all the clubs face next season is that City will once again be the side to beat.
