Bookmakers raise Trump's chances of winning Nobel after Kim summit

Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for reaching an agreement to work towards denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula, following his Singapore summit with Kim Jong-un.

The foreign secretary, who was speaking on a trip to Washington DC, said: "If he can fix North Korea, and he can fix the Iran nuclear deal, then I don't see why he's any less of a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize than Barack Obama, who got it before he even did anything".

The lawmakers told Norwegian wire service Norwegian News Agency that Trump "had taken a huge and important step" toward peace with North Korea and disarmament.

The summit in Singapore has proven that US President Donald Trump is a "man of peace" worthy of the highest award of this caliber, two Norwegian MPs representing the right-wing Progress Party maintain.

A group of 18 Republican lawmakers nominated Trump for the prize last month for his dealing with North Korea. The prize would be next year's because the deadline for this year has already passed.

She was stuck for 45 minutes. "But I trusted everyone who was around that I knew to get me out safely". One person she said was surprisingly kind was Tom Wold of Darwin, the owner of the truck.

Norwegian broadcaster NPK reports that Tybring-Gjedde considers this nomination "a nudge to make Donald Trump finish what he's started".

The North Korean situation has been rocky as it has unfolded, but there has been significant progress.

Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN) and 17 other GOP House members said in their submission, "We can think of no one more deserving of the Committee's recognition in 2019 than President Trump for his tireless work to bring peace to our world". Kim backed off in response to Trump's multiple demonstrations of USA military power and resolve, and his toughening of economic sanctions against North Korea.

Kim also met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in after inviting Trump to meet. Last year's victor was the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons.

Mr Pompeo has also said sanctions on North Korea will not be eased until the country has denuclearised.
