President Trump fires back at Robert De Niro after Tony Awards rant

"He repeated 'F*** Trump" a second time and received a standing ovation from the crowd at the awards show for excellence in Broadway theater, held in NY.

De Niro got a standing ovation from the audience.

"I watched him. and truly believe he may be "punch-drunk", he said.

Donald Trump has responded to Robert De Niro " s Tony Awards takedown by calling the Oscar-winning actor a "very low IQ individual".

"Our baby-in-chief - the j--off-in-chief, I call him - has put the press under siege, ridiculing it and trying to discredit it through outrageous attacks and lies", De Niro said, comparing the Trump administration's attacks on the media to former President Richard Nixon's.

Federal judge approves AT&T merger with Time Warner
Shares of AT&T fell about 1.3 per cent in after-hours trade following the decision, while Time Warner rose more than 5 per cent. As a candidate for president, Trump vowed to block the merger , stating it would concentrate too much power in one company.

DeNiro took to the Tony Awards show stage to say "F*** Trump, ' on Sunday. It's no longer 'down with Trump, ' it's '**** Trump'".

De Niro was introducing Bruce Springsteen, who is starring in a Broadway production of his own, which has sold out tickets for months.

De Niro, who's been cameoing as Robert Mueller on Saturday Night Live, was in Toronto today to open his new restaurant with celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Canadian Nobu.

Hell, the man has appeared in Heat, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter and countless others, but you would think that his recent "Fuck Trump!" comments at the Tony Awards would be pretty low on the agenda of the U.S. president - especially given the importance of his recent meeting with Kim Jong-un in Singapore.

Though Trump said Tuesday he had been working "around the clock" to prepare for his meeting with Kim, it seems he found time to watch a clip of De Niro's rant.
