Lucas Torreira; Arsenal in talks to sign Uruguay midfielder from Sampdoria

Arsenal have agreed to pay Sampdoria £26.5m for the signing of Lucas Torreira and are now trying to settle on personal terms with the midfielder, according to reports in Italy via the Daily Star.

The Sampdoria midfielder has interested a number of clubs this summer, including Serie A giants Napoli, but it is Arsenal who have now moved to the front of the race for his signature.

Despite the reported agreement over the transfer fee, Gunners bosses are yet to agree personal terms with Torreira.

Stephan Lichtsteiner has already joined on a free while Sokratis Papastathopoulos has also signed but an announcement of his arrival has been delayed until next month.
