Mere days after the initial announcement, Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the Smash Bros. series, confirmed that he was working on the game. Ultimate if it wasn't the culmination of the entire franchise, would it? Nintendo says that the show will focus on Switch releases for 2018, but we might see some 2019 titles and 3DS games as well.

So pop these times into your diary and make sure you return to read all the big gaming news as it's revealed on the day.

The fan-favorite developer has remained tight-lipped about what fans can expect from the live stream today but we'll certainly be hearing more about the highly anticipated new Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch. The game was first announced back in March with a teaser revealing that characters from "Splatoon" would be included in the new "Smash" title. Smash die-hards will be going through the extensive details for months to figure out what's exactly changed.
