NBA Draft: Should Cleveland Cavaliers trade up to draft Luka Doncic?

The 2018 draft will be held on June 21 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, and the coveted first pick is held by the Phoenix Suns.

NBA Draft night is fast approaching, and one of the top players will remain in the pool of prospects.

Doncic, a native of Slovenia, now is playing for Real Madrid against Baskonia in the best-of-five championship series in Liga ACB, the Spanish professional league.

Michael Scotto recently reported that the Clippers have "made calls to several teams" with a Top-10 pick to try to make a trade. Unlike most seasons, the top of this draft has a ton of moving parts right now. Adding in Mohamed Bamba, Jaren Jackson Jr, and Marvin Bagley III could cause Doncic could slip all the way to the Mavericks at fifth overall.

The Los Angeles Clippers now hold the No. 12 and No. 13 picks in the draft, giving them the opportunity to land two quality players at the back end of the lottery.

Young, who became the first player in college basketball history to lead the country in both points and assists in a single season, averaged 27.4 points, 8.7 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Sooners. Already a star, but he continues to get better. Teams may like the versatility the 6-foot-11 forward offers.

Doncic would give the franchise a foundation and perhaps more of a "sure thing" than their two lottery picks could provide.

Luka Doncic is staying in the 2018 NBA Draft. It appears for the Clippers, that might be the direction they're leaning towards.
