Navdeep Saini Gets India Call Up, Gautam Gambhir Slams Former Cricketers

After the selection of Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini for the Indian Test team, the left-hander took to Twitter and slammed "few officials" in the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) for trying to block the entry of the young man, citing his domicile status. Am told black armbands are available in Bangalore too for INR 225 per roll!

Fast forward to present now, Gambhir is certainly taking dig at both Bedi and Chauhan over their comments back then on Saini and tweeted, "My "condolences" to few DDCA members, @BishanBedi @ChetanChauhanCr on selection of "outsider" Navdeep Saini to India squad".

He took on former India legend Bishan Singh Bedi and opener Chetan Chauhan and sent out a scathing tweet against the duo.

Saini was called up as a replacement for fast bowler Mohammad Shami who failed the fitness test in Bengaluru ahead of the one-off Test against Afghanistan. The announcement came after Mohd.

Bedi, who has been Gambhir's fierce critic on and off the field, had then questioned how an outsider could get into the Delhi team. During this time, Saini was purchased by IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 3 crore. Saini never bowled with a red leather ball until a day in December 2013 when Gambhir guided him how to handle the Red SG balls.

However, known for being stubborn, Gambhir got him into the team despite revolt from a notorious section of DDCA officials, who had distributed pamphlets, questioning Saini's eligibility, when he was marking his run-up for his first ever over in Ranji against Vidarbha.

Coinbase to add support for Ethereum Classic (ETC)
Ethereum Classic will first be listed on Coinbase Markets, Coinbase Pro , and Prime, after which Coinbase may add support. Additionally, Coinbase has credited everyone who had Ethereum balance during the hard fork in 2016 and did not withdraw.

Gambhir finally got his way and Saini played for Delhi against Vidarbha at Roshanara Club in 2013/14 season.

"I remember every tiny little thing. Not to forget Ashish Nehra, Mithun Manhas, Sumit Narwal, who all stood by me", he added.

Nearly immediately, the DDCA's Sports Working Committee issued a statement of disapproval which read: "A player who does not belong to Delhi, does not even play league cricket from any club of DDCA, has been included in the first XI against Vidarbha", the statement said, while stressing that the selection committee, headed by Chauhan, was "unduly pressurised by some external forces". "Today when I look back about those days, I smile", Saini told PTI. He saw in me before I realized myself.

He claimed seven wickets in the match and bowled Delhi into the final.

The pacer finished the season with 34 wickets in eight games. He was subsequently picked for the Deodhar Trophy and the Irani Cup.
