Irish women bare all in record-breaking skinny dip

From 12:45 a secluded beach in Wicklow will host the Dip in the Nip which needs at least 1,200 participants to set a new record.

The annual event, known as Strip and Dip, is in its sixth year after being launched by breast cancer survivor Deirdre Featherstone and this year was raising funds for Aoibheann's Pink Tie, Ireland's national children's cancer charity. The events have raised thousands of euro.

The swim which took place on Magheramore beach on Saturday afternoon was adjudicated by a Guinness World Records official.

'Oh my god it was incredible.

"Oh my god it was incredible", said Strip and Dip participant Deirdre Betson from Dunboyne. "It was wonderful. I have never been naked in front of anybody before, except my husband, and it was brilliant and bracing", she said. "So proud to have been a part of it", she wrote, adding, "aren't women just unbelievable".

Toronto Raptors to promote assistant Nick Nurse to head coach
Nurse will be judged on his ability to guide Toronto deeper into the postseason before its core passes its prime. The Toronto Raptors have settled on assistant coach Nick Nurse as their new head coach, according to ESPN.

In doing so, the participants raised money for children's cancer charity Aoibhean's Pink Tie.

On Saturday, in 12C waters off Magheramore beach 50km south of Dublin, more than three times that number gathered to break the record.

"They went in one sort of women and came out another sort of women - everyone has said that to me since".

'Aoibheann went to school with my daughter.

"The idea came because I was sick myself around five years ago and I just wanted to do something for charity, and I just wanted to do something that would be a good laugh", she said. We did it in her memory, ' said Betson.
