India welcomes Trump-Kim summit

US forces in South Korea were also apparently clueless as to the decision to suspend the military exercises.

The remarks contradicted countless previous declarations by US political and military officials over the years that the drills are routine, defensive and absolutely critical.

His statement was quickly portrayed by critics as a major, unreciprocated concession to a country that only previous year was threatening Seoul and Washington with nuclear war.

India today welcomed the historic summit between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, calling it a positive development.

South Korea said last month that the issue of USA troops stationed there was unrelated to any future peace treaty with North Korea and that American forces should stay even if such an agreement were signed.

Kim arrived in the city with a bullet-proof limousine and a portable toilet in tow, according to South Korean newspaper Chosun.

US forces in South Korea said it has "received no updated guidance on the execution or cessation of training exercises" and will continue to coordinate with South Korean partners and maintain the current posture until it receives an updated guidance from the Department of Defense or the Indo-Pacific Command.

South Korea's Presidential Blue House said it needed to "to find out the precise meaning or intentions" of Trump's statement, while adding that it was willing to "explore various measures to help the talks move forward more smoothly". "I think it's inappropriate to be having war games".

US Senate seeks to restore ZTE penalties
Schumer (D-N.Y.), filed their amendment to claw back the Trump administration's ZTE deal the same day it was announced . John Cornyn (R-Tex.). "There'll be a conference between the House and the Senate on the defense authorization bill".

North Korea has called for an end to the exercises as part of the United States' ending its "hostile policy" toward the country.

"I said when I first started, why do the bombers come from Guam?" -South Korean "war games" will stop during negotiations with North Korea, to the surprise of South Korean officials.

"Number one we save money - a lot. Plus, I think it's very provocative".

He added that it's "totally premature" to discuss the United States withdrawing its nuclear umbrella from the Korea peninsula in exchange for the total denuclearization of North Korea.

After the talks, the U.S. president said that the process of denuclearisation on the Korean peninsula will begin very soon and the North Korean leader promised to leave the past behind.

North Korea's state media, referring to the drills, recently demanded that Washington "stop the acts of threatening its dialogue partner by force". The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S. -DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.

There have been many reports about the lengths that North Korea will go to protect Kim's 'excretions.' In 2015, South Korean news agency DailyNK reported that Kim keeps a customized bathroom in his convoy of vehicles at all times.
