Alec Baldwin: I Could 'Absolutely' Beat Trump in 2020

Alec Baldwin arrives to 69th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, California.

Stern replied, "I've got a name for you: Alec Baldwin".

"If I ran I would win, I would absolutely win".

Alec Baldwin - who has portrayed POTUS on Saturday Night Live since 2016 - said in an interview with Howard Stern on Monday that if he ran for president, he could unseat Trump.

Stern suggested the highly opinionated Baldwin run for office and asked the actor how he would fare against Trump.

He spoke with Trump by phone on Monday, the South Korean presidential Blue House said, but gave no immediate details of the conversation.

To run for office is something that I want to do", Baldwin said at the time, but added that campaign "doesn't seem to be practical with my lifestyle and my children.

Baldwin also said his campaign would be "the funniest, most exciting, most insane campaign". And after using his Trump voice to say he would take all summer off as president, Baldwin once again asserted his strong candidacy.

"Would I think I'd be a good president?".

A year ago while appearing on "The Brian Lehrer Show", Alec said, "Someone told me - who's friends with someone in the White House, or formerly in the White House - that Melania Trump loves "SNL" and she loves my impersonation". "Somebody great's going to come up, I hope. There's so many things this country needs to do that are so obvious".

Later in the interview, Baldwin claimed Melania Trump loves his impression of her husband by citing "two very powerful people in Washington". "She watched 'SNL.' She watched it online and she laughed and she said, 'That's him".
