IHOP says 'b' in new name stands for 'burgers'

IHOP was an acronym for International House of Pancakes. The P for pancakes is leaving us forever.

On Monday, IHOP revealed the mystery behind the decision to change its name to IHOb.

"Burgers so burgerin' good, we changed our name to IHOb. But these are new 'Ultimate Steakburgers", the website stated, with "all-natural, 100 percent USDA choice black Angus beef".

Although people had been predicting the change for days.

IHOP's new offerings will include a Classic burger (with or without bacon), the Cowboy BBQ burger and the Big Brunch burger, among others.

Many took to social media to guess what the new name could be and most assumed the "b" would stand for 'breakfast.' They were wrong. "For burgers", the company's Twitter bio now reads.

Starting today, you can order one of seven burgers at IHOb restaurants across the country.
