Gears of War' is getting its own PC-only tactics game

Microsoft announced Gears Pop, a new mobile game based on its Gears of War franchise. The game is now in development by The Coalition and was announced with a story-centric reveal trailer.

2016's Gears of War 4 shifted the narrative tone of the series away somewhat from the deep bro-love of the original trilogy and delivered an even better Horde mode than its predecessor, but didn't dramatically reinvent the wheel. Khan spins Afghanistan to T20 series sweep over Bangladesh
Bangladesh , who were 81 for three in the first 10 overs, could only muster 53 in the next 60 balls with the loss of five wickets. While Bangladesh has seemed to have made it a habit of not finishing games, Afghanistan celebrated like there is no tomorrow.

Does this mean that like its predecessor, Gears of War 5 will be less than innovative?

The Gears 5 trailer begins with Kait Diaz crying over the death of an unseen character. The game will support both solo play or with a friend in local split-screen co-op, or online co-op. Gears 5 will also be enhanced for Xbox One X, supporting 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR) at 60 frames per second (FPS). We wish we knew more about it, but that's literally all we know.
