Final preparations under way for Trump-Kim summit

Final preparations under way for Trump-Kim summit

Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un are meeting in Singapore on Tuesday at around 9am local time and their historic summit will be the first face-to-face talks ever between a sitting American president and a North Korean leader.

People crowded around poster stands at train stations around the capital, Pyongyang, to read the news, and gathered at noon on Monday in front of the city's main train station to watch a large screen display of images of Kim disembarking from the special Air China flight that took him to Singapore. The president arrived in Asia having blown up relations with USA allies - and personally with French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau - over trade and Russian Federation, announcing via Twitter en route to Singapore that he'd withdraw from a joint agreement covering climate change and other issues.

This trip, like the last one, is sponsored by, the crypto-currency provider for the legal marijuana industry, Rodman said on Twitter.

Experts on North Korea say that the shortened meeting time leaves nearly no room to forge a path for Pyongyang's "complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization", or CVID, which the US State Department was promising just last week.

Trump has enjoyed all the attention attached to his unprecedented sit-down with Kim, basking in suggestions that he might be a candidate for a Nobel Peace Prize.

The Rodong Sinmun, the mouthpiece of the Workers' Party, also featured his departure in a full-color two-page spread, declaring on the front page that he was leaving in a Chinese plane for a "historic summit" with the U.S. president.

Still, Dennis has strong feelings about how the meeting's gonna go down once Trump and Kim meet.

Sky News video showed the impressive motorcade that that carried Kim from the airport to his overnight lodgings. He later strolled along the harbor at the heart of the central business district with Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who tweeted a selfie with Kim.

Pompeo said "any suggestion that the United States somehow lacks the technical expertise across government, or lacks it on the ground here in Singapore, is mistaken".

The Division 2 to be set in Washington, DC? [Rumor]
Players assume the role of veteran Division agents who must reclaim the city from the factions fighting for control over it. The time is 6 months after the outbreak, unlike The Division , which was set in NY after the start of the breakout.

Trump spoke only briefly in public on Monday, forecasting a "nice" outcome.

The last-minute change of schedule came as both sides finalized preparations for the meeting.

Accompanying Kim Jong Un on the night-time sightseeing tour was his security detail as well as his sister and close adviser Kim Yo Jong, who arrived to Singapore on Sunday on a separate plane from her brother, and former foreign minister and ruling party high-ranking official Ri Su Yong, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported. As the Washington Post points out in one of its op-eds: "It could be years before anyone can fully judge whether the Singapore summit put the two countries on a path to success".

Kim invited Trump to meet in Pyongyang in July for a second summit, the Korea Daily reported, and the United States and North Korean delegations that met in NY agreed that several more meetings may be required.

Pompeo has maintained that complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization is the "only outcome" acceptable to the USA and that the Trump administration hopes ultimately to reach an agreement with the North Koreans that it can submit to Congress "so that when administrations do change, as they inevitably do, and this one will ... that Chairman Kim will have comfort that American policy will continue down the same path". President Trump has described it as a "get-to-know-you situation" and said "it's a one-time shot and I think it's going to work out very well". French President Emmanuel Macron said France and Europe were standing by the G-7 statement, adding "whoever reneges on them is showing incoherence and inconsistency".

Whatever the results, it will be one of the more unusual summits in recent history as a flamboyant, often erratic USA president gets a close-up look at a hereditary socialist despot who sits on a nuclear weapons programme.

Trump's early exit will be his second from a summit in just a few days. Positive results would do away with the need for South Korea to have to choose between "solidarity with the US" and stability in the Korean peninsula.

Just a few months ago, Kim was an worldwide pariah accused of ordering the killing of his uncle, a half-brother and scores of officials suspected of disloyalty.
