Horn travels from Australia to defend title against Crawford

Horn said he always expected to be considered the underdog against Crawford but not to the extent he is being viewed as in Las Vegas. The man they simply call "Bud" has demonstrated his mastery of the complex sport, beating a slew of opponents at both lightweight and junior welterweight, many of them easily.

During Wednesday's public workout, WBO welterweight champion, Jeff Horn, was openly wondering why he was such an underdog for his title fight on June 9th.

But anyone with even a remote sense of neutrality saw the fight far differently, and knew it was a close one regardless of how it was scored. And the first part of that equation we managed to achieve.

The difference between the standard of their rooms says everything about who they are, and where they stand in the boxing world - particularly with Bob Arum's Top Rank, who are footing the bill for their accommodation.

Lonergan said he expects another upset Saturday night.

Terence Crawford's Brian McIntyre confronts the media at the Top Rank gym in Las Vegas.

But according to McIntyre, it's only a matter of time until Crawford's name is everywhere.

While Crawford had fought many guys with losing records in his first 19 fights, Horn had faced 12 world-rated opponents. He was the 2017 ESPN fighter of the year and in August became only the third fighter of the four-belt era to unify all four major sanctioning body titles when he blitzed Julius Indongo in a third-round knockout to take his two belts and become the undisputed champion at 140 pounds.

The MGM Grand's Sportsbook has Crawford at a 9-1 favorite, in a challenge for Horn's title. "Terence is a great fighter".

"He fights to win so you've got to tip your hat off to a guy that's willing to do any and everything to win".

"I've got the fake finger for the hidden handkerchief, the disappearing box of cards, the boxes with the secret compartments".

The world welterweight champ credits his father with giving him the extraordinary mental strength that allowed him to roar back to victory against the great Manny Pacquiao in Brisbane a year ago.

"In fact I actually feel a lot more relaxed now". We'll see Saturday night who's getting rocked and dropped. The judges will be watching Terence Crawford and watching me as well. That's what I'm going for, the KO. "But I label myself as the No. 1 fighter in the world".

Crawford, who drove himself to hospital 10 years ago after being shot in the head, said the children of Omaha looked up to him as a sporting hero and he was fighting to inspire them to rise above poverty.

"Don't nobody know how strong Terence is", he said. "He showed that against Manny Pacquiao".

"It wasn't that hard", Horn said.

"Look using these gloves makes it a more unsafe fight, " Horn said. "But once they get in with me, they're surprised at my strength and the angles I come off". He's pound-for-pound. He wiped out the [junior welterweight] division, and that's a tough division as well. "That's important. They come from nothing like me and I won't let them down". I've heard I'm a chump.
