Childhood Cancer Survivors More Prone To Sleep Problems As Adults

U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va, joined President Trump at the White House for Wednesday's bill signing.

The study involved 1,933 childhood cancer survivors enrolled in the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study, 50.8% of whom were female.

Joan Fernandez (left) and Megan Cullinan at the Illinois Valley Community Hospital Cancer Survivors Breakfast.Nadine Lower, of Arlington, said she had been a cancer survivor for nearly four years.

Cancer is still the leading cause of death by disease past infancy among children in the United States, with more than 10,000 children under the age of 14 being diagnosed within the a year ago.

"Everything we have developed is meant to be able to be gotten over the phone so that patients don't have to worry about fighting traffic, finding transportation, getting a sitter for the kids or whatever", Badger said.

In unprecedented move, Terrell Owens won't attend Hall of Fame induction ceremony
Owens was voted into the hall in February after being denied in his first two years of eligibility. The decision to decline the invitation and not attend his own induction ceremony is unprecedented.

Healthy lifestyle behaviors that include regular exercise have been associated with substantial reductions in mortality, but it wasn't known whether that applies to adult survivors of childhood cancer.

"We know that sometimes after treatment there are residual health effects from childhood cancer", Senator Capito said.

The release, citing the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) National Cancer Institute (NCI), said some progress has been made in pediatric cancer research, with deaths from childhood cancer declining by nearly 70 percent over the last four decades. "Somebody else had to go out of the country for this specific kind of cancer, so these registries I think will help us identify where those cancers are and the centers of excellence too". She added that she made it through the treatment process "only with a lot of help from my family, friends and co-workers".

The next step is to fund this research.
