Chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain dead at 61

Bourdain hanged himself, the network said in a statement. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much.

"Anthony was found dead this morning in his hotel room in France". He was found unresponsive in his hotel room by his friend, French chef Eric Ripert. Parts Unknown saw Bourdain focus on cuisines from around the world, and he visited places including Ethiopia, Jamaica, Tokyo and Rome for the CNN series. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this time.

He moved to CNN in 2013 with a new travel and food show Parts Unknown, which is in its eleventh season.

Designer Kate Spade, who built a fashion empire on her signature handbags, was found dead of suicide in her NY apartment on Tuesday. Spade's death has been ruled as suicide by hanging.
