7-month-old abducted by registered sex offender in Virginia

- An Amber Alert has been issued after a reported sex offender abducted his 7-month-old baby in Virginia after attacking her mother.

WRIC reports police said Carl Kennedy assaulted the infant's mother with a knife, then took the child during an incident at a Kwik Stop in Danville, Virginia.

Carl Ray Kennedy is the accused abductor, a registered sex offender, and Emma's father according to Danville police.

Emma, the alert said, was last seen in a light blue onesie. Kennedy is described as a white man with gray hair and green eyes. He was recently released from jail after posting $250,000 bond.

In the past few weeks, Metzger said, another family member would always be with Murphy and Emma when they left home; however, Sunday night, that was not the case when Murphy stopped at the Kwik Stop. He was last seen wearing a brown short sleeve shirt and gray shorts with black and white Skechers shoes.

The decision to allow women to drive could give them the much-needed mobility to join the workforce. Women 18 years of age and older will be allowed to apply for a driver's license, Bassami said.

Emma is considered to be in extreme danger. There's also an emblem on the vehicle that reads "Johnny's Auto Sales".

Additionally, he has an eye tattoo on the back of his right hand.

They may be traveling in a four-door gold Subaru Impreza with improper North Carolina tags: FAA-1873.

Danville police, who issued the alert, said Emma is about 26 inches tall and weighs 18 pounds. His left arm is scarred from a work accident and has a scar on his head.
