Hue Sync now available for Windows and macOS

The whole experience relies on the user creating a new entertainment area with selected bulbs in the latest edition of the iOS and Android Hue apps.

Things have certainly been moving at a brisk pace for the folks over at Philips Lighting (now, Signify) - after releasing a major update to the Hue app just a few days ago, they're back at it again, this time, with the new Hue Sync app, released today for both Windows and macOS. The app is available globally for free. Hue Sync supports Hue's entire ecosystem of products, including light strips, bulbs, and floor/desk lamps, which is great for experimenting.

Signify collaborated with Disney Music Group to showcase Philips Hue Sync's immersive capabilities with the highly anticipated, premiere music video from the new a cappella singing sensation, DCappella.

The mood lighting effect can also be adjusted to fit the type of media content including the music genre. For example, your lights could pulse disco-style to music you're playing, or change to match the colors on your screen.

Imitate Ambilight on your TVAs you may know, Philips TVs are equipped with the mood lighting Ambilight, which can also sync up with Philips Hue lighting in your living room.

Philips Hue lights are typically among the most advanced (and most expensive) smart bulbs. And if you're looking to get started with Hue, a starter kit, which includes four of the color bulbs and the bridge, is now available for $195.
