‘The Expanse’ revived by Amazon for season 4

In the wake of Syfy's cancellation of The Expanse following its third season, Amazon has chose to pick-up the fan-favorite sci-fi series for a fourth season.

Amazon has saved The Expanse: during last night's National Space Society's International Space Development Conference, Jeff Bezos mentioned that his deal for the critically praised drama has been completed. The fact that Amazon took notice and made a decision to pick up the show is a clear sign that engagement from fans can make a difference in the Peak TV era and that the networks that listen to and partner with the audience have a better chance of surviving when the bubble eventually bursts in the current boom of original programming on television. There was no way SyFy was going to be able to accurately keep up with the expanded story, even on the current relatively big budget of the show, with everything that was coming in the fourth season and beyond. "The show is extraordinary and these guys are unbelievably talented".

The SyFi series, produced and financed by Alcon Entertainment, had been cancelled just about ten days ago by the network to the surprise of many fans of the show.

In a subsequent tweet, Alcon also thanked Laura Lancaster, who heads up the company's TV division.

You can catch The Expanse streaming on Netflix.

The Cavs looked to have figured out the former Shaker Heights star, holding him to eight points on 3-for-15 shooting in Game 5. His determination was absolute, and the cards were always stacked against Boston even given their postseason record at home.

The producers, which fully financed The Expanse, have been in talks with Amazon about picking up the series.

Co-created and written by Oscar-nominated screenwriting duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men), the series is based on the bestselling book series by Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck (under the pen name James S.A. Corey). From reddit campaigns to airplanes, we say thank you.

Video capturing both Bezos's statement and the crowd's joyous response, was shared by Expanse cast member Cas Anvar.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon Studios has picked up The Expanse for Season 4, around two weeks after SYFY declined to renew the series.
