John Terry wants freaky clause in new Aston Villa contract

Terry is a Chelsea legend and he called time on a 19-year Stamford Bridge career last summer, signing a one-year deal with Villa.

Suggestions that the 37-year-old, out of contract this summer, could sign a 12-month extension at Villa with a clause that exempts him from facing former club Chelsea in the event that they win promotion to the top flight sparked widespread bemusement and derision.

Controversy has, once again, found John Terry, as the veteran defender prepares for what could be his final match for Aston Villa in the Championship playoff final against Fulham on Saturday. "But at the same time I think that most of us feel that had we won then Cardiff would have probably have won as well".

I just knew what he would give.

'I really genuinely hope he triggers it.

Maybe on Saturday after getting the better of John Terry and scoring the victor, we will see Aleksandar Mitrovic doing the one arm raised Shearer celebration at Wembley.

At his arraignment on Friday, Weinstein's attorney, Benjamin Brafman , entered a plea of not guilty for his client. Witnesses say Mr Weinstein appeared pale and stared into space while prosecutors outlined the bail agreement.

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has said he intends to pressure the two Villa centre-backs John Terry and James Chester, as he expects the pair to make mistakes.

"He has been one of the great defenders of our country", he added. We are going to follow our style and be confident we will cross the line.

Barry's experience extends beyond just club football, and the 37-year-old played 53 times for England between 2000 and 2012, scoring three goals for his nation, including England's 2000th global goal.

"Villa have players who have experienced playing in this stadium", said former Chelsea midfielder Jokanovic, who led Watford to promotion from the Championship in 2015.

"So I am going to try to use my best weapons, and the game can be long so we are going to use the bench too to try and force the situation". He plays in a complicated position.

"Usually in the past if you're preparing for a big game and you know the team on a Tuesday - if I wasn't in it then on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I'd have a face like a slapped a***".
