Samsung Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8 with Infinity Display Launched in India

These are all smartphones created to fit a tight budget, but they all offer pretty respectable packages. It has brought about changes in the display hardware that delivers a 18.5:9 aspect ratio to provide an end-to-end viewing experience and more browsing space.

The Korean company is updating its Bixby AI personal assistant and is first appearance looks set to be on the new Note 9.

Galaxy J6, A6 and A6+ will be available from tomorrow, while J8 will be available from June 20 onwards. Both the front and rear camera have LED flash. It runs the Android 8.0 Oreo and has a 3,000mAh battery. "The Exynos 7 series powered by J6 comes with a 5.6" HD+ Super AMOLED display with 13MP and 8MP rear and front facing cameras respectively. There's a dual-camera system on the rear comprised of a 16MP main sensor and 5MP secondary, as well as a 24MP front-facing camera, both with LED flash. Both handsets comes with two RAM+Storage configurations of 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB, the storage in both variants is expandable up to 256GB through a MicroSD card. A 3,500mAh battery powers the Galaxy A6+.

Samsung unveiled two new phones, the Galaxy J6 and J8, at an event in India. The A6 and A6+ come with Android O skinned with Samsung's custom UI.

Rumors have suggested that Samsung is working on a "lite" version of the Galaxy S8, basically trimming down some of the specs but retaining a few key features in the smaller, mid-range handset. For additional storage, the phone features a microSD card slot. The dual-SIM phone runs Android Oreo software and supports 4G LTE connectivity.

"In terms of optics, the latest Galaxy S Lite phone has a 12 mega pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55" sensor size, OIS, 1.4µm pixel size.

The phone bears a similar design as that of Galaxy S8.

It is powered by an Snapdragon 660 with 2.2 GHz octa core processor.

Pricing for the J6 starts at Rs 13,990 for the 3GB/32GB model, and goes up to Rs 16,490 for 4GB/64GB.

All the devices in Galaxy "A" series come with metal unibody. As usual, Samsung is including a few purchase offers. J6 will be available on Flipkart and offline stores from May 22. Samsung Galaxy J8 is priced at Rs 18,990, it will be available for purchasing from July. The devices will also be available on Paytm Mall. "We are also introducing a new youthful and vibrant blue color that shows that we listen to our young consumers who constantly seek stylish designs", Mohandeep Singh, senior vice president, Mobile Business at Samsung India said while announcing the company's new phones. Chat-over-Video allows consumers to chat through a transparent chat window and keyboard, while a video is still running.
