Voting was light for last week's primary election

Tuesday is the statewide primary election in Oregon. We won't belabor those, but you should vote today. The group said it received some reports of voters receiving incorrect ballots and having their registration unexpectedly changed. Erin Feichtinger, who received the largest number of votes in that race, will advance to the general election.

The Butler Radio Network will be airing live election return coverage beginning at 9 p.m. on WISR 680AM and WBUT 1050AM and online.

Orange County and its cities, schools and navigation district are spending close to $500,000 this fiscal year on elections that only 10 percent of registered voters participate in.

Republicans also elect delegates to the state party convention.

You need to bring a photo ID (such as an Idaho driver's license or a passport) to vote, or be willing to sign a personal identification affidavit.

Local residents are deciding on candidates for the Republican or Democratic ballots for the 2018 midterm primaries, with a trio of contested races on the GOP ballot. Voters should verify that they are either registered as affiliated with the political party in whose primary they plan to vote on September 11, 2018 or that they are registered as undeclared.

OR voters appear on track to show their lowest turnout in a primary election in at least 16 years, ballot statistics indicate. Voters are strongly encouraged to inquire before the registration deadline if they wish to check their voter registration status.
