Second consecutive win shows Hamilton is on track finally

Lewis Hamilton enjoyed a comfortable win in the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on Sunday to move 17 points clear at the top of the drivers' championship. The trouble we have now is that with the modern cars carrying so much downforce, Turn 1 isn't a long braking zone and the only decent braking zone into Turn 10 comes after two corners where it's very hard to follow the auto in front.

After a relatively sluggish start to 2018, Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport's chief race engineer Andrew Shovlin has said that the team's first 1-2 finish of the season is a "great reward".

There was also more track time for Robert Kubica, who followed his FP1 run for Williams with a full day of testing and completed almost two race distances.

"After that, we had an internal meeting in Pirelli where we evaluated everything and then we prepared a report for the FIA explaining why we were requesting this change".

The poor results by Vettel and Raikkonen dropped Ferrari behind Mercedes at the top of the constructors' championship. We weren't happy with the performance of the cars and we needed to sort things out.

"I have no idea what they've changed", said the Red Bull driver.

"But we could easily go to the next race and struggle and be nowhere".

Starbucks aims to triple China revenue by 2022
Starbucks has announced ambitious plans to double the number of stores across China to 6,000 locations by the end of 2022. Starbucks operates approximately 3,300 stores in 141 cities in China and employs 45,000 employees.

But Vettel struggled with tire wear and Ferrari made a decision to bring him in for an extra stop.

"I was really looking forward to my first outing", said the Canadian, "especially after the disappointment of missing out on pre-season testing (due to illness)". Despite all the talk of updates, as usual the ultimate performance seems to come down to who can get the tricky Pirelli tyres to work best for them. "I just need to continue my development, there are never things that you can't learn more", he added.

Sebastian Vettel has called on Ferrari to address their problems after their slump in Barcelona. The Ferrari driver managed to get past Bottas and slot into 2nd place, although his race didn't end as impressively. On lap 34 Daniel Ricciardo finally heads to the pits allowing Vettel and Bottas to advance.

"We had other priorities in the last few weeks". It was expected to be done before the start of the current campaign, but it has dragged on with the season now five races old.

According to Shovlin, formerly of Honda, Hamilton was theoretically capable of stretching his first stint beyond 26 laps but Mercedes took no chances with the sizeable gap he had created. "But it's as much as I am overwhelmed with the victory today, my mind is already in Monaco and I remember Sunday night was not as pleasant past year".

Kimi Raikkonen's race in Catalonia was yet again one to forget.

Many Formula One fans have been led to believe that Saturday in Monaco is the most important qualifying session of the season, however, statistics suggest it's even most critical to get your one-lap runs right in Spain.
