Rapper TI Arrested After Altercation, Claims He Was 'Wrongfully Arrested'

T.I. has been charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after being arrested outside his gated community in Henry County, GA, early this morning.

Local Atlanta WSB-TV station reported that T.I. was arrested around 4 he tried returning to the gated community where he lives at the Eagles' Landing Country Club.

According to police, the security guard at the gate refused to let T.I. enter, with the rapper reportedly asking the guard, "Don't you know who I am?"

Following news of the arrest, T.I.'s attorney, Steve Sadow, provided the following statement to ET, alleging his client was the victim of a wrongful arrest. The rapper has since bonded out.

Still, he claims the security guard, who was African-American, "antagonized" him and had "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused.

Solo: A Star Wars Story review round-up: 'It's pure fan service'
I duly took my seat last night with my own personal lightsaber of breathless anticipation having developed something of a droop. This is the first Star Wars movie where it hasn't felt like it's being crushed by the portentous weight of what's to come.

Police also say T.I. did NOT make physical contact with the security guard, but the guard feared he would be hit during the dispute. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry.

In a video posted to The Blast, T.I. called the arrest "nonsense", and said he was "inconvenienced". The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.

After T.I. was released, he celebrated his son Major's 10th birthday at his school. He says the guard eventually called the police, but says the law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested.

The altercation seems to have escalated at this very point, as both T.I. and his friend were taken into custody shortly thereafter. "When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".

A message for the deputy chief at the Henry County police department wasn't immediately returned.
