Police hunt for man after young girl assaulted in bed

The eight-year-old was asleep when the man climbed onto her bed and briefly spoke to her before indecently assaulting her at the family's Kingsford home in the early hours of Monday, police say.

A search is underway for a hooded man who climbed through a young girl's bedroom window in the middle of the night and allegedly indecently assaulted her in Sydney's east, earlier this week.

The footage later shows the man climbing out the same window and shutting it behind him, before jumping over the fence and fleeing.

The lady was not bodily injured and ran to her mom proper after the horrifying incident who then instantly contacted police.

The girl was not physically hurt in the assault.
