No, the Next STAR WARS Spin-Off Won't Focus on LANDO CALRISSIAN

No, the Next STAR WARS Spin-Off Won't Focus on LANDO CALRISSIAN

Earlier today (May 16) it was reported by French publication Premiere that Donald Glover was set to star in his own solo Star Wars movie.

What Kennedy actually said was Lucasfilm would love to eventually make a Lando spin-off one day, but this is now not a priority.

Donald Glover must have knocked it out of the park if they are willing to fork out the cash in making a Lando Calrissian origins story so close to the Han Solo origins story - depending on what next truly means.

LUCASFILMWhich Star Wars character is next for the spin-off treatment?

'We think that the next spinoff will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian, ' the producer and film exec told France's Premiere. Even Premiere and ComicBook both note the long-gestating chatter around an Obi-Wan film.

Body clock disruption linked to depression
For the study, researchers measured body clock disruption on 91, 000 middle aged people using wearable monitors. To record their levels of activity, participants wore accelerometers for 7 days between 2013 and 2015.

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and unsafe criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga's most unlikely heroes.

Glover will debut as Lando in May 25's Solo: A Star Wars Story, which focuses on the adventures of a young Han Solo prior to the events of Star Wars: A New Hope.

Update: io9 reports that Lucasfilm now says that the quote may not be entirely accurate, but didn't deny the possibility of the Lando movie outright. Directed by Ron Howard, Solo is the second Star Wars spin-off following Rogue One.

Alden Ehrenreich plays Han Solo in the movie, with Emelia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany supporting.

Solo is the first in a potential series of films, with Ehrenreich signing on for three instalments, although it's unclear whether that might include an appearance in a Lando movie.
