Kerala tourism invites Karnataka MLAs for safe stay in its resorts

The humorous message was put out on Tuesday evening after the political drama unfolded.

In an attempt to make some real profit out of the unclear Karnataka assembly poll verdict, the Kerala Tourism hit the Twitter to make an offer to the newly elected members of Vidhana Soudha - come an unwind in the Gods Own Country.

Is Trump preparing to sell out South Korea?
A diplomatic source says the North may have sent the delegation to explain to China some developments regarding next month's U.S. Meanwhile, Bolton is announcing that he's prepared to push for trade sanctions against American allies if they trade with Iran.

Shah Faesal, who was recently transferred to the Department of Tourism as Secretary, asked the MLAs that they are welcome in Gurez valley of Kashmir. In an official tweet soon after the election results, the Kerala Tourism Department said, "After the rough and tumble of the #KarnatakaVerdict, we invite all the MLAs to unwind at the safe and attractive resorts of God's Own Country". JD (S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has, however, staked claim to form government with what the Congress called its "unconditional support". The resort politics' last took place in Tamilnadu during political turmoil that happened after the death of the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

It is also worth noting that the Karnataka BJP President B S Yeddyurappa himself has employed resort politics in the past. As the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) came together to try and keep single largest party the BJP out, there were murmurs about the need to sequester MLAs to prevent defections. An all-party meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sought the opinion of various parties and they conveyed their opinion to cooperate with the state for exempting the tourism sector from hartals. Under its watch, tourism in Kerala has grown rapidly over the years and the department has taken great efforts to ensure that it is one of the best in the country.
